KOAN Architecture is an architecture practice based in Helsinki,
Finland, established by Marko Simsiö and Johannes Koskela.
KOAN is focusing on sustainable and wooden architecture projects in different scales. The practice has designed a large variety of wooden buildings and areas for dwelling, leisure, and public use.
Our design ideology is deeply human-oriented. We want to solve things in contemporary way, retaining respect for tradition and context. For the best results, we believe it is important to work in active collaboration with the client and other participants in each project.
